Surcharges DHL
Below are listed the surcharges that may apply to your shipment. Please keep in mind that the carrier may change rates and conditions for surcharges. We will do our utmost to inform you as well as possible, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee accuracy and completeness. Therefore, no rights can be derived from our information on surcharges. For insight into surcharge rates, please refer to the DHL website.
Note: The extra costs incurred by the carrier are calculated afterwards. For this reason, surcharges are invoiced later.
Weight adjustment
Additional charges will be applied for packages that deviate disproportionately from the weight entered by the sender during the transportation process as determined by subsequent weighings. This applies to packages that are weighed higher. The packages are weighed and measured by the carrier using calibrated equipment, and this applies to the highest chargeable weight, which may be the actual or the volumetric weight.
Fuel surcharge
The shipping rates presented on Parcel International's platform are included fuel surcharge.
Emergency surcharge
A surcharge will be applied to continue service in emergency situations. For more information about this surcharge, please refer to the DHL website.
Remote area
Surcharge for delivering and collecting in remote areas. Remote areas include islands, mountainous areas or a postal code area or village that is difficult to reach.
Overweight and oversize
A surcharge is applied when:
- The shipment weighs more than 70kg (overweight), applies to both actual and volumetric weight.
- The shipment has a single dimension longer than 120cm (oversize).
Address correction
A surcharge will be applied when the carrier needs to locate the correct address to deliver the shipment.
Non-stackable
A surcharge will be applied when the pallet or package cannot be safely stacked vertically due to an irregular shape. The carrier reserves the right to determine whether a shipment is stackable upon pickup or at the sorting center.
Customs services
Shipments that require customs handling are subject to import duties and VAT. These costs are not included in the rates shown by Parcel International. The import duties and VAT are determined based on the contents and value of your shipment.
