Surcharges DSV

Below are listed the surcharges that may apply to your shipment. Please keep in mind that the carrier may change rates and conditions for surcharges. We will do our utmost to inform you as well as possible, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee accuracy and completeness. Therefore, no rights can be derived from our information on surcharges. For insight into surcharge rates, please refer to the DSV website.

Note: The extra costs incurred by the carrier are calculated afterwards. For this reason, surcharges are invoiced later.

Weight adjustment

Additional costs are charged for shipments that deviate disproportionately from the weight entered by the sender during weighings during the transportation process. This applies to shipments that are weighed higher. Shipments are weighed and measured by the carrier with calibrated measuring equipment. This applies to the highest billable weight. This may be the actual weight or the volume weight.

Length surcharge

A surcharge is applied if the shipment has a length longer than 240cm. Questions about this surcharge? Please contact the supportteam of Parcel International.

Time windows

A surcharge is charged if the pickup and/or delivery time windows are less than 4 hours. Questions about this surcharge? Please contact the support team of Parcel International.

Waiting hours

A surcharge is charged if the driver has to wait for more than 2 hours at pickup or delivery.

Loading/unloading ramp

A loading/unloading ramp is not available on every vehicle. If a loading/unloading ramp is necessary for pick-up and/or delivery, a surcharge will be charged. Questions about this surcharge? Please contact the Parcel International support team.

Security

shipping lines, ports, and terminals are required to place appropriate security officers/personnel on each ship, in each port facility, and in each shipping company to prepare and put into effect the security plans that will be implemented.

Customs

Shipments that require customs handling are subject to import duties and VAT. These costs are not included in the rates shown by Parcel International. The import duties and VAT are determined based on the contents and value of your shipment.

Government

All charges are subject to government-controlled Service tax and is applicable even though charges are paid overseas.

EU Mobility Package

The extensions on minimum wage, posting, cabotage rules and the return home in regard to EU Mobility Package come into force in February 2022. There is a common approach in the EU to improve conditions for drivers such as increasing salaries and the improvement of their living conditions. However, this will lead to changes on the haulier’s compensation and operational methodology and subsequently reflect in an increased cost structure.

From 1 March 2022, we will implement an Mobility Package Surcharge to cover the increasing costs. The focus is to ensure that we can supply the required amount of capacity, as the new cabotage of capacity, as the new cabotage rules and return home of the vehicle will create a shift of capacity in the market.
